Alors que le DRM d’Ubisoft a fait couler beaucoup d’encre, SEGA parle durant quelques lignes du futur DRM d’Alpha Protocol via son blog US. Rien d’incroyable, il s’agira d’Uniloc: SoftAnchor. Si cela ne vous dit rien, c’est simplement le DRM qui limite le nombre d’installation du jeu vidéo. Dans le cas d’Alpha Protocol, il sera possible de l’installer cinq fois. Toutefois, vous pourrez regagner une installation si vous désinstallez le jeu proprement. Ou si vous faites la manipulation adéquate directement sur votre compte en ligne. Une nouveauté qui évitera bien des arrachages de cheveux.
SEGA indique aussi que par la suite, un patch supprimant ce DRM sera disponible dans les 18-24 mois suivant la sortie.
The system chosen for Alpha Protocol is Uniloc: SoftAnchor. The system will allow the user to activate Alpha Protocol online immediately out of the box and once activated the user never needs to worry about activating again. The activation can be used on a limited amount of PCs, and can be deactivated through our online servers allowing the user full control over their license – should they need to re-install, swap machines or suffer a catastrophic hardware failure on their normal PC.
